Old tactic. In the book "30 years a WT slave" the author wrote that old Judge Rutherford sent people out just to cause problems so that arrests and mob violence would happen. It had it's uses. The WT does the same today. This time they want their members to draw together when the pedafile issue threatens to pull them apart. It's a ploy to circle the wagons.

PREACHERS WILL GO TO JAIL
by minimus ina nearby congregation announced that due to the society's winning the case in the supreme court concerning door to door work, territories that have not been worked in 2 years, will now be worked.
publishers should no longer contact the local police dept.
before they go in the field, no longer should they tell the police where they will be working or what cars they will be driving, including license plates.

I LIKE MIKE! I am not gay. I don't drive a Saturn. I drive a big Dodge Ram pickup truck with 360 cubic inch V-8. Perhaps I am compensating? But don't ask Mike because he don't know. He is one cool dude in my book. And I am glad he is on this board. But I am puzzeled about his repeated comments about his "Chelsea boys." Are those something like the "Back Street Boys"? If so I would say Mike has good taste in clothes but bad taste in music.

Letter Read to All Congregations
by AMNESIAN inthose of you still attending meetings are/will be in a position to provide more specifics as to exact wording and tone.
my information comes second-hand from one who attended the tms/sm last night.
i was not there and did not personally hear the letter read (and did not wish to press too insistently for details).

I think this is another example of the Society shooting itself in the foot. It's one thing for JW's to see a GB member live at an assembly amist thundering applause. It's another thing to see one on the little screen close up and in detail. Maybe some will see that this is just another old man and not a "glorified one." It's got a creepy quality to it. Sometimes it is an issue like this that get's people to notice that there is something stinkin in Watchtower Land.

Secrets of JW Elder Power
by Amazing inseveral days ago i posted a topic about how the newly reinstated could be disfellowshipped again for failing to attend meetings or particiapte in field service.
(this was based on the issue of lacking works that befit repentance.
) i used cautionary language about how this ""can"" happen, but was accused of making "dogmatic assertions" and that the organization book and the flock book never authorize such, and most of all the s-77 form sent into the society would trigger a co visit were it to state such things.

I'm damn glad I never reached out. I doubt I could have handled such a maize of nonsense. It must be very damaging to have so many different and conflicting authorities in one's life. Written law, Oral law, COs, DOs, Branch guys no wonder the elders seem clueless. Where is the Bible in any of this?

Ozone Hole over South Pole to be repaired
by TheOldHippie in.
a news report was sent out today, stating that because the outlet of ozone destroying material has been reduced, the ozone hole over the south pole area will be reduced gradually, and will have been completely repaired within 50 years.
now ain't that a shame?

I think all the ozone in the Los Angelos smog is making the world a better place. I'm so happy now.

I'm Pi$$ed
by Elsewhere infirst someone goes and makes a mockery of depression by saying that one can "will" oneself out of it.
after reading that and having been in a severe depression in the past... i just about hit the roof.

I understand Elsewhere. I am now in the depths of my depression. I believe in my case it is situational depression and not chemical depression. I know in my mind that sometime next year my situation will change for the better and I can "live" again but for now I just endure and try to survive. Exercise helps me, any imrovement in my life does, but my mind seems to be my strongest enemy. I try to think positive thoughts but I sometimes think that I have had 4 rough years in a row and maybe it will never get better. So I think "happy thoughts" and "exercise" works for some, partly (in my case) for others and not at all for the chemically depressed. My .$02

Buffalo 66 About a guy who after gets out of prison and has to go to the bathroom real real bad. So he kidnapps Christi Ricca and has her go with him to his parents house and pretend to be his wife. It's strange and funny. Best line Parolee to Christi Ricca: "If you mess up I will kill you right there, Boom, shoot you dead right there in front of Mummie and Daddy. But if you do good, well I will be your best friend for the rest of your life. Now start the car."
